Last year, at 93 years old, Hazel McCallion finally retired (退休) as mayor (市长) of Mississauga, Canada. As mayor, she was so popular that she did not need to launch an election campaign (发起竞选活动) the last time she was elected!
Now, she is 94. Many people who are at this age are simply trying to stay healthy. Hazel, however, is not very good at sitting! She still likes skating. She also runs Hazel’s Hope, a charity to help children in Africa. And recently she accepted a new job. She will work for the University of Toronto, helping it develop courses for people interested in managing cities.

For the last few years, Lillian Weber, a 99-year-old woman from Iowa, has had a big goal (目标). She wants to make 1,000 dresses for African children by her 100th birthday. So far, she has made hundreds of dresses!
Lillian helps support Little Dresses for Africa, a charity that provides dresses to young African girls who are in need of clothing. The task of Little Dresses for Africa (and Lillian) is to show these girls that the world cares about them. Lillian makes one dress every single day for a girl she will probably never meet.
